Yesterday we took the day off and headed North to visit the Boston Temple and to see a matinée of the Boston Pops Orchestra's Christmas Pops show. It was great to be at the temple again, and it was beautiful with the snow backdrop.
We had left ourselves a window of an hour to get from the temple to the show, but by the time we got lost a million times (Boston has been nominated the worst city to drive in several times) we were a full 45 minutes late for the show!! We begged at the box office, and they exchanged our tickets to super upgraded tickets for the evening show. We spent our new-found time walking with all the other insane people on Newberry Drive, fighting the freezing weather and huge snowbanks on the corners to hit all the fun shops on the strip. We did dinner at Charley's, where we had the best bread ever . . . we ate 3 loaves!
This time we were early for the show, and it was magnificent. And the seats they gave us were right on the first balcony over the orchestra!
Lucky we got to see the first half, because all the traditional, spiritual pieces were first. What an incredible show!! It really feels like Christmas! We got home really late, but were able to sleep in since church was canceled because of the new snow and ice.

Sounds like a great show AND great bread!
So, is Santa bringing you a nav system for Christmas?
I agree Boston is a terrible city to drive in. Luckily the one time we were there we had a rental car with GPS. It saved us. The "big dig" idea sounds good until you have to drive through the never ending construction mess! Looks like a fun day though. You have to enjoy those long days before the baby comes. They like to take charge :) Merry Christmas!
I agree Boston is crazy to drive in! Boston is the only city where it is legal to drive on the shoulders of the road and the highway medians are moved everyday to accommodate the traffic. However, the temple is lovely. I like how it looks like it is cut out of the mountain (not sure if you could see it with the snow on the ground). I also like the texture of the steeple. It sure is a tricky place to find your way in and out of too!
