Grandma and Grandpa Streeter Visit

We had such a great time having grandma and grandpa with us for a few days. As you can imagine, they wasted no time giving their youngest grandchild all the love and attention in the world! Dad does a great job getting Audrey to talk.

On Friday while I was at school Em took the whole crew to one of our favorite haunts, Lighthouse Point. I am not sure what they did right, but we had absolutely perfect weather the whole weekend.

This was Audrey's first time dipping her feet into the ocean! Sounds like she wasn't quite sure what to think of the sand. She loves being in the water, just not ready to be a beach bum.

Grandma did her share of spoiling, too.

Here is a great picture dad captured of all our beautiful girls. That is New Haven in the background. In the foreground is, well, a lighthouse of all things.

On Saturday you got the story of our trek from dad's letter, but the submarine museum was really fascinating. Turns out we missed getting into the flagship sub because of Audrey's nap schedule, but we saw enough to convince mom that if she were ever to enlist it would be as an Army Ranger (can't you just see it), and avoid the funny white upside-down doggie dish hats that tool around in submarines, the claustrophobic nightmare.
Groton Connecticut was the main locale for submarine assembly during WWII, for all you history buffs out there.

This is just a fun picture on the dock outside that quaint lobster restaurant. Bummer that nobody in our crew likes seafood. Rumor has it they serve some of the best in New England.

The Fourth of July

The Fourth was rainy here in New Haven. So we ended up staying indoors for a bbq inside. We hung out with our good friends Brady and Kari Heward. Below is their adorable daughter Ruth decked out in her 4th of July attire. Saturday the 5th we were able to fulfill our desire for an outside picnic at the ward celebration. Geoff's day was brighter still because there was a big game of Ultimate Frisbee at the picnic.

More things Audrey likes to do

4. Audrey loves to suck on her fists and her thumb. She sticks her thumb in and spreads her other four fingers across her face. It's really funny to watch sometimes because the other fingers get in the way and she has to close her eyes.

5. Audrey loves walks and being outside.

6. She has recently discovered she can grab her clothes and move them. Geoff kept trying to take a picture of her in her pretty Sunday dress and she kept pulling it up. Hee-hee.

Got ya!

An Audrey Update

Audrey is growing so fast! She is already 10 weeks old. She is very interactive and picks up new things all the time. Two weeks ago she had her first round of immunizations. It was really sad. She was a trooper at the doctor's office and just cried for a little while. But the shots made her pretty sick with a fever. On top of that she caught her first cold starting around the same time. So she was pretty miserable for a couple of days. We just held her close all day long. :( She fully recovered before too long and is back to her happy self.

Some of the things Audrey likes to do include:

1. Looking at books as mommy and daddy read them to her. "Colors" is one of our favorite. Thanks Jill Tanner for the great shower gift!

2. And blowing bubbles.
